When starting a module an error message appears:
License error
Error when trying to pull the license key CNS2009*PUSER*APPNAME.
In this example:
CNS2009*PSUSER*PDATAMGR:
Normally it makes sense to answer the question Should the license information dialog
be opened for further problem diagnosis? with Yes .
-> Der Dialog PARTsolutions license information for module xy is opened.
When the desired module is starting (e.g. PARTdataManager), but there are problems
obviously (in the case of PARTdataManager catalogs and export formats are grayed out),
you can open the dialog PARTsolutions license information for module xy via Help
menu -> Licenses (or F9 key).
Analysis and problem solution are different when using a single-user license (Case 1) and license
server license (Case 2).
Case 1
• In the dialog PARTsolutions license information, on the tabbed page General, under
License type, you can see that a Nodelocked license is used.
• On the tabbed page License selection, you can see that there are no products displayed
at all.
So it is clear that the license is missing.
Tabbed page "General"
Tabbed page "License selection"
Problem solution:
1. Start PARTadmin.
2. Under Category, select the item License administration.
3. Select the tab Licenses.
In the File dialog area, no license is displayed!
4. Install the file by clicking on Add file... . Details on this can be found under Section,“Install license”.
Case 2
On the tabbed page General, under License type, you can see that a Floating license is used.
Status: no connection
-> So it is clear that a License server is used.
Problem solution:
Check the following points:
1. Is the option Use license server activated on client side?
2. Is the license server running?
3. Is there a network problem?
In the PARTsolutions license information of respective module (call via F9 key), under
Status, you can see that there is no connection to the license server.
Status: no connection
4. Is the license correctly installed?
On this see Section “Install license (license server)”.
