Problem description

When transferring CAD parts from ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit to Siemens NX (version NX 2412 and newer) via
“Transfer to CAD (NX)” command, the following error occurs:

Exception: The builder for this command is retired
Source: NXOpen

Root cause

Starting with Siemens NX 2412, Siemens introduced internal changes in the NXOpen API.

These changes conflict with the way ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit creates HTTP Notes / Attributes, which leads to the reported error during export.

There are two alternative solutions. Applying either one is sufficient.

Solution 1: Environment variable (recommended)

Define the following environment variable on the NX client system:
UGII_ALLOW_SPECIALIZED_NOTES=true

Then:

  1. Restart Siemens NX
  2. Retry the export from PARTdataManager / ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit

Solution 2: Configuration via ifugnx.cfg

1. Open the configuration file via PARTadmin:
ifugnx.cfg
2. Set the following parameter:
CreateHTTPNoteForAttribute=0
  • Save changes

  • Restart Siemens NX
  • Retry the export
