Problem:

In PARTadmin -> Category "Catalog update" -> Online -> Current updates, catalogs occur

in category Catalogs, no valid license.

Catalogs, no valid license

This behavior can have different reasons:

• Maintenance expired. See Section 1.5, “Maintenance expired”.

This case can occur both with single-user license and with server license.

• Tabbed page Licenses: Product -> Status: Red = Expired: Maintenance expired

• Tabbed page Licenses: License key -> CNS2009*MAINTENANCE Red (date expired)

License key "CNS2009*MAINTENANCE" expired

License key "CNS2009*MAINTENANCE" expired

  • No license at all.On this see Section, “No license available”.
  •  License issued to another computer
This case can occur both with a single-user license and a floating license.
The Host ID issued to the product does not match the actual Host ID (Red) shown on the
tabbed page Licenses at the very top.

Host ID is on red (here in this example single-user license)

  • License issued to wrong license type or license incorrectly installed (NODELOCKED license
  • installed on license server)
  • That you are on a License server (and not on a local computer) can be recognized on
  • the left under Category.
  • In the product line (or several), under Type, "S" (Single) is displayed. There, "F" (Floating)
  • should show up.
  • Under Role you can see "NODELOCKED". There, MASTER or MASTER/BACKUP
  • should show up.

  • License issued to wrong license type or license incorrectly installed (MASTER/BACKUP license locally installed)
  • That you are in the (local) License administration and not on the License server can be recognized on the left under Category.
  • In the product line (or several), under Type "F" (Floating) or "D" (Dynamic) is displayed. There, "S" (Single) should show up.
  • Under Role, MASTER or BACKUP is displayed. There, NODELOCKED should show up.
  • Under Status, "valid only on FLM server" is displayed. If the MASTER Host ID is correct,Status Ok is displayed. However, you can recognize by the other attributes that the license is not correct. On this see second following figure.

Status: "valid only on FLM server" and wrong type

Status: "Ok", but wrong type
