Does the license meet the server definition: Master / Backup?

Modified on Fri, 28 Jul 2023 at 09:09 AM

Problem:

The issued license does not meet the server definition. When trying to save the license a respective

error message appears:

Examples:

• The Host ID of the Backup server is not correct. Either a wrong backup server has been determined or the backup server's license has not been correctly issued.

Inconsistent license configuration: The hostids of these servers differ from the ones

mentioned in the license file! Please only use license files valid for this server(s).

The figure shows two errors: A Master-Backup cluster has been set up, but the license only

refers to ONE server. Furthermore it is valid for another server, meaning the Host ID is not

correct.

Inconsistent license configuration. The number of servers differs from the number

of servers, mentioned in the license file!:

Problem solution:

1. In PARTadmin, select the category License administration.

2. Click on the button Start license server management....

Important

Do not install licenses via tabbed page Licenses!

Note

If there is no PSOL installation available on the administration client, use the PARTadmin from the license server installation (which is always installed in addition).

Start PARTadmin via Windows-Start menu -> CADENAS License Server -> License server.

In this way PARTadmin is started in the correct mode.

Under Windows -> Services -> Cadenas License server -> context menu "Properties", you can see the

license server's installation path.

-> In both ways the license server's PARTadmin is started.

3. Click on Connect... .

-> The dialog box Connect to FLM server... is opened.

4. Select the option Configure newly installed license servers.

5. With single-click, select Master and Backup server and confirm with OK .

6. Switch to the tabbed page Security and enter a password.

7. Return to the tabbed page Licenses.

8. Via Add file... , install the desired license.
